PAGODA / boxes

Very small series, limited series & unique pieces

PAGODA is a collection of decorative boxes exclusively made from scraps of wood. It is the trapezoidal shape accentuated by a small bevel that evokes the contours of a pagoda. Once stacked up, these boxes represent a real pagoda!

The two-colour boxes draw their colours from nature... and in particular from the earth. The inspiration comes from a wonderful trip to Iceland, and pays tribute to the volcanic landscapes, with their breathtaking kaleidoscope of colours with oxides and sulphates... chalky white, yellow ochre, red ochre, gypsum, oxide and lava grey. Their particularity is the "ceramic" aspect, effect obtained thanks to the way of working the surface and the lacquer. The "lava" box, equally intriguing, contains a layer of chipboard which suggests volcanic rock.

The boxes in solid elm emphasise a very clean Japanese aesthetics, specific to the work of the designer. The originality lies in the visual graphics created by the veins of the wood, which makes each piece a unique creation. The boxes are protected with natural hard oil while remaining very close to the wood in its original state. They surprise with a velvety and silky touch.

It is a "haute couture" creation, at the frontier between design and craftsmanship, with a special attention to detail and beautiful finishing touches... handmade with the greatest care.
